Chipping Norton Hotel
Owned by Don Hodge Group and designed by Darren Mah Design, the Chipping Norton Hotel sets a new benchmark for Australian pub design. This ground-up build combines uncompromising attention to detail with a refined material palette, creating a venue that feels both contemporary and enduring.
Identity Furniture was engaged to manufacture the majority of the furniture package, working closely with Darren Mah and Don Hodge to bring the design vision to life. Select-grade Blackbutt timber was chosen as the hero material, finished in a subtle grey-wash stain that enhances its natural strength and character. Bespoke tables feature parquetry, brass and stone inlays, and precision powder-coated steel bases, ensuring durability alongside craftsmanship.
The Harper Chair was reimagined exclusively for this project. In collaboration workshops held at our Melbourne factory, the design was widened and deepened to create a more generous and luxurious seating experience, tailored specifically to the client’s brief.
The result is a venue that embodies the strength of collaboration, high-specification design, and Australian-made craftsmanship — a true showcase of what is possible when vision and execution align.
