Hotel Gosford has served the NSW Central Coast for close to a century, having been first established in 1926.
Purchasing the hotel in 1998 from the original family-run owners, Harris Narvo Hotels envisioned a 1920’s inspired transformation of the venue for the future. It would, however, take close to two decades for these plans to come to fruition. When the opportunity arose, Harris Narvo Hotels selected Bergstrom Architects to refurbish the venue over an eighteen-month period.
Bergstrom’s interpretation of Harris Narvo Hotel’s vision blended roaring twenties flair with a contemporary look. The vision also expanded upon the original heritage-listed structure to feature a new 6-metre tall partial enclosure of the outdoor terrace enabling a larger Saloon, Main Dining Area, and VIP Lounge.
Working closely with Bergstrom Architects, Identity Furniture assisted in designing furniture pieces that featured rich dark timbers, brass highlights, and alluring blue accents that inhabited feature tiled inlays and contrast upholstery, giving the space a roaring twenties atmosphere. Coupled with the internal structure’s exposed brick, matte steel finishes, and concreted surfaces, the refurbishment harmonised a contemporary feel with a roaring twenties ambience. Patreons of Hotel Gosford raved about the transformation complimenting the new look as “amazing and unrecognisable” from the previous venue, “breathing so much more life into the Gosford CBD”.
Bergstrom Architects entrusted Identity Furniture to collaboratively design, build and deliver 265 highly custom pieces of furniture. Our extensive custom work included:

• Caesar Low Tables with a Polytec Calacutta D’Oro Xenolith top with double fine edge secured to a steel base powdercoated in matte black.
